The Andalusia City Council on Tuesday approved a resolution granting economic development incentives for Golden Rule BBQ.
The restaurant recently opened on the Western Bypass in Andalusia.
“These restaurants are scattered all around the state, but this is one of the first ones in south Alabama,” Mayor Earl Johnson said.
The mayor said there are several factors to consider before entering economic development agreements.
“In this case, it’s my recommendation, that we approve a 1.5 percent rebate of city sales taxes for three years, based upon gross sales of Golden Rule BBQ.”
