Jeremy is serving his first term representing District 3 on the Andalusia City Council.

He is a native of Andalusia and currently serves as CFO of Evergreen Medical Center.

He and his wife, Kristen, are the parents of two boys.

2021 kennith mount for webKennith C. Mount

Kennith Mount is serving his fifth term as councilman for District 2. Kennith was born in Andalusia. He grew up in Brantley, Alabama, and attended Brantley schools. Kennith graduated from Auburn University in 1967, with a B. S. degree in Agricultural Education. Kennith earned his Masters in Education Administration from Auburn University at Montgomery in 1974.

Kennith was employed in the education sector from 1968 until 2005 when he retired from teaching agriscience at Andalusia High School for 31 years. Since his retirement with the school system, Kennith has worked with the State of Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, worked for Andalusia Farmers Coop. and Pacers.

Kennith has two children, Scott and Katie. Scott and his wife, Heather, have two boys, Ellis who is attending Faulkner University on a soccer scholarship, and Addison, a senior at Auburn High School. Katie and her husband, Scott Kirby, live in Mobile, Alabama, and their two children, Carnes and Libby, attend Auburn University.

Kennith’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, and gardening.

2021 joe nix for web Joe Nix

Joe Nix is serving his first term as councilman for District 1. His work experience includes 38 years of working with government programs, including 29 years with the Alabama Department of Transportation. 

A gradate of Alabama A&M University where he earned a bachelor's degree in urban studies, Joe attended Carter G. Woodson School prior to desegregation, and then attended Andalusia High School from 1970 to 1975. At AHS, he played varsity football and was named team captain in 1975. Because of his leadership abilities, he was nominated and selected as a high-school All-American in 1975. 

After college, he worked for the town of Sunflower, Mississippi, as the deputy director of Community Development Block Grants (CDBG). In 1983, he returned to Andalusia to coordinate CDBG grants for his hometown. His first project was the completion of the North Cotton Street Park, later renamed Robert Horry Park, and his final project was the Will Coleman Center. He also served as grants coordinator and assistant license and building inspector for the City of Andalusia.

They serve four-year terms and are elected by their district's constituents.  

The Andalusia City Council meets on a regular basis every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month.  The meetings are open to the public and they are held in the City Hall auditorium at 6:00 p.m.
