THE CITY OF ANDALUSIA
STREET CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE WORKER
The City of Andalusia is accepting applications for one (1) Street Construction and Maintenance Worker. Under the General Direction of the Public Works Director, the employee is engaged in the construction and maintenance of municipal streets and roads, storm sewers, sidewalks, etc. Work includes building forms to pour concrete, laying pipes for drainage purposes, constructing header walls, and repairing damaged roads. The work is of a skilled and semi-skilled nature of more than ordinary difficulty often involving the use of skills not acquired on the job. General instructions on work assignments are received from the Public Works Director.
QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of training and/or experience equivalent to:
- Possession of a valid driver’s license as issued by the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
- Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent.
- Extensive experience (minimum 3 years) in the field of street and road construction, storm sewer construction and replacement.
- Ability to work nonstandard hours and/or over 40 hours per week.
- Concrete experience is preferred.
YEARLY ENTRY SALARY RANGE: $ 23,150.40 - $ 24,627.20
